Tips and Tricks for How To Get The Most Out of Our Online Auctions On Proxibid
The world of online auctions can be confusing if you haven’t done it before! In the age we live in, there are many platforms that all operate differently. We have taken common customer questions and came up with a list of helpful suggestions so you have less headache and a more pleasant auction experience!
- Don’t wait until the last minute to register for the sale or bid! Try to register at least one day before the sale closes.
- Make sure your information is up to date ahead of time, including contact information, payment information, address, etc. If you have a cell phone number this is especially helpful for pickup, as sometimes we utilize texting to schedule.
- Read all the terms and conditions! No one likes surprises. You can get the fullest Professional Auctioneers experience if you are fully aware of the terms and conditions ahead of time. Terms and Conditions can always be found on the bidding homepage under the auction description under a tab marked “Terms and Conditions”.
- Proxibid works best on a desktop. We highly recommend using a computer over a smart phone or a tablet.
- Place your max bids ahead of time! This one is critical, especially if it’s a large auction and you are bidding on or watching several items. This feature is also helpful if you can’t watch the auction close but don’t want to miss out on something you really want.
- If you’re bidding on a lot of items or just watching some items, utilize the “My Items” section instead of trying to look for everything in the entire sale. This has everything you have bid on or decided to watch all in one place.
- Call prior to the auction beginning to close with any questions about particular items. We will do our best to answer them ahead of time, but it can be tough if the call is placed with minutes left in the auction.
- At the end of the auction you will receive an invoice itemizing all of your purchases with Buyer’s Premium and Sales Tax added to arrive at your total price for each item. Your credit card on record with Proxibid will automatically be charged for the full amount of your purchases. If the total of your purchases exceeds $500 then Professional Auctioneers, Inc. may require your payment to be made by bank wire transfer or bank certified check prior to your being able to pick up your items or have them shipped to you. Everything you will need is on your invoice, including the address for pick up!
- Professional Auctioneers and Proxibid are not the same! Proxibid is a platform we use to do our sales. Therefore, if you have technical issues with Proxibid or have issues with your Proxibid account, call Proxibid’s Customer Service Number at (877) 505-7770.
- Once the sale is over, we will call you or text you about scheduling pickup. No need to reach out to us! We schedule appointments based on where items are located in the home and how accessible they are.
- Be on time for your appointment! If you need to change it, just let us know! It throws off our carefully organized system for convenient pick-up if you are late, do not show up, or just show up spontaneously.
- Bring help and any necessary tools for pickup, especially if you bought larger items like furniture! Bring your own packing supplies as well, as we do not provide these for you.
- If you are an out-of-town customer but plan to pick up in person, please let us know as soon as possible so we don’t take your item(s) to The UPS Store in Moultrie for shipping.
